Exclude disabled self-service products from license calculation
Ramon Schouten
Disabled self-service products, though inactive and non-requestable, are currently included in the licensing metrics of HelloID Service Automation. This poses a notable challenge for implementers like myself, as the setup of products frequently entails keeping them disabled until they're ready for implementation. This preparatory phase can span several months, during which disabled products still contribute to the overall license count.
Suggested Solution: We kindly request that disabled self-service products be excluded from the licensing calculation. Given that these products are not actively utilized or requestable, it seems fair and practical to refrain from including them in the licensing framework. This adjustment would better align the licensing structure with the actual utilization of the platform and alleviate unnecessary financial burden for organizations during preparatory stages or gradual rollouts.

Thank you for your feedback. Disabled products do indeed count towards the license tally. A product can be requested and assigned multiple times before being disabled. These assigned products remain assigned, but new requests are no longer possible.
Since the license tally is based on the accounts linked to the access group(s), this is also the correct way to ensure fewer or no licenses are charged for a specific product. This can be easily done by linking different or no access group(s), or by limiting the members of the access group(s).
