We are extending the Approval Workflow configuration to support an Advanced Approval Step. This enhancement prepares the platform for more complex approval logic in the future.
As this is an initial, non-final version, the functionality will be released behind a feature flag.
Specifications
  • A new configuration button for the Advanced Approval Step within the Approval Workflow
  • Ability to define a name for the Advanced Approval Step
  • Support for a configurable PowerShell script to calculate the approval logic
  • Option to run the PowerShell script on a local agent or the HelloID cloud agent
  • Multiple tabs in the configuration UI for: defining input variables for the PowerShell script, viewing data returned by the PowerShell script and viewing log messages sent from the PowerShell script
This feature focuses on configurability and technical groundwork. The actual PowerShell execution capability for testing and running the Advanced Approval Step will be introduced in a separate features.
